Laetitia, Grand Duchess Mother of Tuscany (born Princess Laetitia d'Arenberg on 2 September 1941) is a member of the Tuscan Grand Ducal Family as the mother of Sigismund, Grand Duke of Tuscany. She was Grand Duchess consort of Tuscany from 1984 until 1993. She is also a member of the French nobility as the daughter of Duke Engelbert II of Arenberg.
Life[edit | edit source]
Laetitia was born the elder child and only daughter of Duke Engelbert II of Arenberg and Marie Therese d'Harambure.
Laetitia became Grand Duchess of Tuscany upon the ascension of her husband in 1984. Shortly after her divorce, Laetitia's son named her Grand Duchess Mother of Tuscany.
Marriage and Issue[edit | edit source]
On 19 June 1965, Laetitia married Leopold Franz, Hereditary Grand Duke of Tuscany in Florence. The couple had two sons, Sigismund and Guntram, before divorcing in 1993.
