Margarita was born the second child and only daughter of '''Don Manuel Gomez-Acebo y Modet''' and '''Mercedes Cejuela y Fernandez'''. Margarita's parents were executed by Spanish revolutionaries in 1936. Margarita and her brother thus spent their childhood under the care of various relatives and friends of their parents.
