Alberto was born the only child of '''Guido, Count of Rezzano''' and '''Vittoria Fabbri'''.

In 1968, Alberto succeeded his father as Count of Rezzano. In 1990, her moved with his family to Genoa in order for his wife to take up her new role as Hereditary Duchess of Genoa.

Alberto was named Prince Consort of Genoa by his wife shortly after her accession.

==Marriage and Issue==
On 29 April 1971, Alberto married '''Princess Maria Isabella of Genoa''' in Genoa. The couple have three children, '''Vittorio, Carlo,''' and '''Maria Luce'''.
