==Life==
Kardam was born the eldest son and heir of '''Simeon II, Tsar of Bulgaria''' and '''Dona Margarita Gomez-Acebo y Cejuela'''.

In 2008, Kardam and his wife were involved in a serious car accident near Sofia. Kardam suffered severe brain trauma and injuries to his hands. He was placed into an induced coma but was discharged in early 2009. In 2010, however, he suffered a setback and fell into a coma from which he never recovered. He passed away from a lung infection in 2015.
