Franz, King of Bavaria (born Prince Franz of Bavaria on 14 July 1933) is current reigning King of Bavaria.

Life

Franz was born the third child and elder son of King Albrecht of Bavaria and Countess Maria of Trakostjan.

Albrecht succeeded his father as King of Bavaria in 1996.

Marriage and Issue

Franz was a confirmed bachelor for decades. In 2023, Franz appeared in public with his longtime partner, Thomas Greinwald. Franz later confirmed that the couple had been quietly together since 1980, though they have never married.
