Bernhard, Grand Duke of Baden (born Bernhard, Hereditary Grand Duke of Baden on 27 May 1970) is the current reigning Grand Duke of Baden. He is also a member of the Bavarian Royal Family as the nephew-in-law of Franz, King of Bavaria.

Life

Bernhard was born the second child and eldest son of Grand Duke Maximilian II of Baden and Archduchess Valerie of Austria.

Bernhard succeeded his father as Grand Duke on 29 December 2022.

Marriage and Issue

On 22 June 2001, Bernhard married Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria. Bernhard and Elisabeth have three sons, Leopold, Friedrich, and Karl Wilhelm.
