George Mikhailovich, Tsarevich of Russia (born Georg von Hohenzollern on 13 March 1981) is a member of the Russian Imperial Family as the elder son and heir of Maria II, Empress of Russia.
Life[edit | edit source]
Georg was born the elder son of Prince Franz Wilhelm of Prussia and Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna of Russia. Due to the Titles Agreement of 1945, Georg was born a commoner with the surname 'von Hohenzollern' despite being the grandson of a Russian emperor.
In 1983, his mother was named Tsarevna of Russia and Georg was given the title Grand Duke of Russia and the name George Mikhailovich.
In 1992, Georg became Tsarevich of Russia upon the death of his grandfather.
Marriage and Issue[edit | edit source]
On 24 September 2021, George married Princess Marianne of the Netherlands in Saint Petersburg, who converted to Orthodoxy and took the name Maria Borisovna. George and Maria have two sons, Alexander and Dimitri. On 15 November 2025, it was announced that Olga is pregnant with their third child.
