Donatus, Grand Duke of Hesse (born Prince Donatus of Finland on 17 October 1966) is the current Grand Duke of Hesse.
Life
Donatus was born the eldest child and heir of Grand Duke Moritz of Hesse and Princess Tatiana of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.
Donatus was born a Prince of Finland, but his grandfather renounced their Finnish succession rights in 1965 in order to succeed his distant cousin as Grand Duke of Hesse in 1968.
He succeeded his father as Grand Duke upon his death in 2013.
Marriage and Issue
On 25 April 2003, Donatus married Countess Floria of Faber-Castell in Darmstadt. Donatus and Floria have three children, Paulina, Moritz, and August.
