Luisa, Duchess of Parma (born Princess Luisa of Brazil on 28 July 1978) is a member of the Parmense Ducal Family as the wife and consort of Carlo V, Duke of Parma.

Life

Luisa was born the elder child and only daughter of Prince Manuel of Brazil and Princess Irene of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

Marriage and Issue

On 7 October 2009, Luisa's engagement to Carlo V, Duke of Parma was announced. The couple were set to be married on 28 August 2010, however the declining health of the Duke of Parma led to a postponement of the wedding. The couple were eventually married in Parma on 20 November 2010.
