==Life==
Margareta was born the eldest child of '''King Michael of Romania''' and '''Princess Anne of Parma'''.

With no legitimate male issue, in 1997 King Michael petitioned the Romanian government to amend the laws of succession to allow for male-preference primogeniture. After a decade of discussion, in 2007, the changes were approved and Margareta was named Crown Princess of Romania by her father. Margareta, her husband, and daughter subsequently moved to Romania after living in Portugal for twenty-eight years. 

Margareta ascended to the throne upon her father's death in 2017.

==Marriage and Issue==
On 24 July 1979, Margareta married Infante Miguel, Duke of Viseu. Margareta and Miguel have one child, '''Anne'''.
