Anne, Crown Princess of Romania (born Infanta Anne of Portugal on 9 June 1981) is a member of the Romanian Royal Family as the daughter and heiress of Margareta, Queen of Romania. She is also a member of the Russian Imperial Family as the daughter-in-law of Maria II, Empress of Russia.
Life[edit | edit source]
Anna was born an Infanta of Portugal as the only child of Infante Miguel, Duke of Viseu and Margareta, Queen of Romania.
In 2007, her mother was named Crown Princess of Romania by her grandfather, and the family moved to Romania. Shortly after, Anne was also named a Princess of Romania.
In 2017, Anne's mother ascended to the Romanian throne and Anne was named Crown Princess. Anne and her family, who had been residing in Russia, moved to Bucharest to take up full-time royal duties for the Romanian crown.
Marriage and Issue[edit | edit source]
On 4 August 2010, Anne married Grand Duke Nicholas Mikhailovich of Russia in Bucharest. The couple have three children, Michael, Amalia, and Ferdinand.
