==Life==
Caroline was born the third and youngest child of '''Christian Karl, Count of Rantzau''' and '''Heloise von Lettow-Vorbeck'''.

She became Grand Duchess consort upon the ascension of her husband in 2014.

Upon her husband's diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in 2022 and 2023, respectively, Caroline has limited her public appearances but continues to perform her duties in support of her son as regent.

On 26 September 1987, Caroline married '''Christian, Hereditary Grand Duke of Oldenburg''' in Oldenburg. The couple have four children, '''Alexander, Philipp, Anton Friedrich,''' and '''Katharina'''.
