==Life==
Henri was born the second child and eldest son of '''Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg''' and '''Princess Josephine Charlotte of Belgium'''.

Henri became heir to the throne upon the abdication of his grandmother in 1964. He succeeded to the throne upon the abdication of his father in 2000.

On 24 December 2024, Henri announced his plans to abdicate in favor of his son. The abdication will take place on 3 October 2025.

==Marriage and Issue==
On 14 February 1981, Henri married '''Infanta Maria Teresa of Spain''' in Luxembourg. Henri and Maria Teresa have five children, '''Guillaume, Felix, Louis, Alexandra,''' and '''Sebastien.'''
