Queen Genevieve of Belgium (born Princess Genevieve of York on 9 July 1987) is a member of the Belgian Royal Family as the current Queen consort of Belgium. She is also a member of the British Royal Family as the niece of James IV, King of the United Kingdom.

Life

Genevieve was born the elder daughter of Prince Geoffrey, Duke of York and Lady Joan Pakenham.

Marriage and Issue

On 9 November 2007 in Brussels, Genevieve married Leopold IV, King of the Belgians. The marriage was not without controversy, as Genevieve was both a Protestant and seventeen years Leopold's junior.

Leopold and Genevieve have five children, Albert, Katherine, Clara, Louis, and Anne Marie.
