James IV, King of the United Kingdom (born Prince James of Wales on 18 August 1957) is the current reigning King of the United Kingdom. He is also a member of the Hanoverian Royal Family as the brother-in-law of Ernest Augustus V, King of Hanover.

Life[edit | edit source]

James was born the second child and elder son of King James III of the United Kingdom and Princess Judith of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

In January 2024, it was announced that the king was suffering from prostate cancer. He briefly postponed all public-facing duties while undergoing treatment.

Marriage and Issue[edit | edit source]

On 6 June 1980, James married Princess Olga of Hanover in London. The couple have one son, Arthur.
