Alois, Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein (born Prince Alois of Liechtenstein on 11 June 1968) is a member of the Liechtenstein Princely Family as the son and heir of Hans Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein. He is also a member of the Bavarian Royal Family as the nephew-in-law of Franz, King of Bavaria.

Life

Alois was born the eldest child of Hans Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein and Countess Marie of Wchinitz-Tettau.

Alois became Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein upon the death of his grandfather in 1989. Since 2004, Alois has served as Prince Regent of Liechtenstein.

Marriage and Issue

On 3 July 1993, Alois married Princess Sophie of Bavaria in Vaduz. Alois and Sophie have four children, Joseph Wenzel, Marie Caroline, Georg, and Nikolaus.
