Life
Ferdinand was born the second child and only son of Charles II, Emperor of Austria and Francesca von Thyssen-Bornemisza.
He came heir to the Austrian throne in 2011 upon the death of his grandfather, Emperor Otto.
Marriage and Issue
On 6 April 2020, Ferdinand's engagement to Princess Mafalda-Cecilia of Preslav was announced. The couple were married in Vienna on 31 January 2021.
Ferdinand and Mafalda-Cecilia welcomed their first child, Regina, in 2021. Their second daughter, Zita, was born in 2024.
