Queen Amelie of Spain (born Princess Amelie of Sweden on 1 October 2020) is a member of the Spanish Royal Family as the current Queen consort. She is also a member of the Swedish Royal Family as the sister of Ingrid, Queen of Sweden, as well as the British Royal Family as the niece of James IV, King of the United Kingdom.

Life[edit | edit source]

Amelie was born the fourth and youngest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Theresa, Princess Royal.

Amelie is godmother to her niece, Princess Alice of Sweden.

Marriage and Issue[edit | edit source]

On 1 January 2020, Amelie married Juan II, King of Spain in Madrid. Juan and Amelie have two children, Alfonso and Antonia. On 16 April 2026, it was announced that Amelie was pregnant with her third child. On 15 May 2026, it was announced that Amelie had given birth to a stillborn daughter.
